KASUR, Sept 1: The 50-members delegation of Indian scholars on a visit to Kasur attended the Punjabi Mehfil-i-Mushaira under the auspices of the Bulleh Shah International Forum late Tuesday night.

Participating in the mushaira on the invitation of PPP MNA Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmad and PPP MPA Syed Muzaffar Hassan Kazmi, known poets paid homage to Hazrat Baba Bulleh Shah.

India scholars, including Ramesh Kumar Yadav, Kamar Jeet Singh, Jitandar Dhilon and Pargat Singh, said the revered sufi poet gave the message of peace and fraternity. Besides, they called for relaxation in the visa policy by Pakistan and India so that people could conveniently exchange visits.

DIES: A convict in a murder case died in the district jail under mysterious circumstances here on Wednesday. Dost Muhammad of Kanganpur had been in the Kasur jail since long. His body was handed over to his heirs.

THEFT: Thieves took away stamps, cash and envelopes from the Chunian post office on Wednesday. Police said the thieves entered the post office and stole away thousands of rupees in cash and stamps and envelopes worth thousands of rupees.
