HYDERABAD, May 23: The provincial administrative council of the Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association, at a meeting held here on Wednesday, deplored the inordinate delay in the issuance of notification about the promotions of senior college teachers and resolution of other problems.

The meeting recalled that at a meeting of the provincial selection board on Nov 23, 2001, which was presided over by the Sindh governor, the college teachers were given promotions.

It lamented that the covering notifications regarding the promotions had not been issued and said that four senior professors had already retired one had died.

It demanded of the Sindh governor to direct the authorities concerned to issue the promotion notification and withdraw the alleged illegal joint seniority list.

The meeting also adopted resolutions, demanding withdrawal of the decision of privatization of educational institutions and promotions of college teachers to grade 18, 19 and 20.
