LARKANA, Aug 30: Leader of opposition in Sindh Assembly Nisar Khuhro has opposed a proposal to issue computerized national identity cards to immigrants.
Talking to People's Party Parliamentarians workers here on Monday, he said the Sindh Assembly's resolution, calling for issuing of the CNIC to immigrants indicated what he called ill-intentions of the rulers.
Mr Khuhro labelled the MPAs who had supported the resolution as "traitors of Sindh" and said history would not forgive them. He alleged that those in power were interested only in saving their chairs.
He said: "We are ashamed of turncoats and traitors for selling their conscience to remain in power." He added they had skipped from commitments they had made with their voters. About the government's plan of creating new districts in Sindh, he said it would neither create jobs nor correct the deteriorating law and order situation.
He said: "We should not pin hopes on the National Finance Commission award as it will not deliver good to Sindh. Under it, neither more funds will be allocated nor budget volume will expand.
Instead it will complicate the situation", Mr Khuhro said. The president of the Larkana city chapter of the PPP, Aftab Bhutto and Taluka Nazim Nazeer Shaikh were present on the occasion.
SPSF: A meeting of the Sindh People's Students Federation, Larkana division, has decided to hold workers' conventions to strengthen the organizational structure of the SPSF.
The meeting also chalked out a plan of protest rallies in district headquarters against the government to frame new references against Benazir Bhutto and Asif Zardari. The protest will start from the first week of September, the meeting decided.
PROTEST: Activists of the Tehrik-i-Insaf on Sunday took out a procession in Kambar town, demanding safe and early recovery of trader Santosh Kumar and Kapil Dev. The joint secretary of the Tehrik-i-Insaf, Sindh, Shahid Rind, Kambar taluka president Himath Chandio and others led the procession.
The protesters marched on the main roads of the town and then proceeded towards the Larkana city. They ended their march outside the Dharmshala and assured their support to Hindu Panchayat leaders.
