Rs150m pledged for women’s college

GILGIT, Oct 27: The Northern Areas education department has allocated Rs150 million for the establishment of the first women’s polytechnical college in the region, Northern Areas education secretary Prof Khawaja Meherdad told newsmen on Saturday.

He said the federal government had formally approved the recommendation of Northern Areas’ educational authorities regarding a women’s technical college and had assured that Rs150 million would be disbursed to establish the college.

He said technical training would be imparted at the college to women.
