LAHORE, Aug 24: Four Pakistanis, out of a total seven included in the main draw, could qualify for the pre-quarterfinals of the ITF Pakistan Circuit Satellite tennis tournament (third leg) on Tuesday.

Top seed Aqeel Khan notched up a three-set win against Kamil Felali of Morocco. He recovered to win 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. Nomi Qamar ousted compatriot Wasif Cheema after a colourless match 6-2, 6-3.

Asim Shafik and wildcard Shahzad Khan were the other two who won their matches. Asim defeated N. Jeevan (India) 6-3, 6-4 while Shahzad outclassed another Indian Vikas Punna 6-3, 6-2.

The winner of second leg Sakai Toshiaki of Japan when he defeated Dmity Manov of Uzbekistan 6-0, 6-3. The men's doubles event also started.
