KASUR, Aug 24: Three members of a family were killed in a road accident in Mianwala Ghat, Chunian, on Tuesday.

Abdul Rahman along with his wife, Naseem Bibi, and four-year-old son Aziz was going to Hare hokey from Chunian by a motorcycle when a speedy wagon hit them near Mianwala Ghat. The three motorcyclists died on the spot.

Wagon driver Javed was overpowered by the area people and handed over to police. In another incident, one person was killed and eight others injured when a wagon overturned at Halla Chowk, Pattoki Sadar.

A wagon was going to Pattoki from Lahore when it overturned near Halla Chowk due to over speeding. Sharif died on the spot while eight others - Adnan, Rizwan, Jamil Sajad, Abdul Hameed, Khursheed Bibi, Sakhawat, Sharifan Bibi and her daughter, Saima - sustained injuries. They were taken to hospital.

LOOTED: Dacoits looted cash, gold and valuables in two different incidents here on Tuesday. In Pandatwala village, Phoolnagar, five armed men entered the house of Ahmad Yar and fled after looting Rs225,000 in cash, 57-tola gold and 28-tola silver.

In Kot Radha Kishan, three armed men took away Rs30,000 in cash, jewellery and valuables from the house of Hafiz Mohammad Iqbal. Raiwind Sadar police have registered a case.
