FAISALABAD, Aug 23: The Anti-Corruption Establishment on Monday registered a case against six policemen, including Madina Town police post incharge, for taking bribe from a shopkeeper.

Abid lodged a complaint with the ACE high-ups claiming that SI Umer Hayat along with five policemen had raided his medical store and took away Rs100,000 in cash from the counter. He claimed that the police had also implicated him in false cases.

The ACE additional director after an inquiry found the policemen guilty. On his direction, the ACE have registered a case against SI Umer Hayat, constables Amin, Idrees, Intisar, Abdul Razzaq and Anwar with no arrest.

AXED TO DEATH: A villager axed to death his daughter on Sunday night over a minor issue in Chak 39-GB. Taj Muhammad fell out with his wife and sister over some domestic dispute.

In rage, he attacked his daughter Shazia with an axe. She sustained serious injuries and died on her way to hospital. Satiana police have registered a case and are investigating.

SNATCHED: A gang of armed bandits snatched Rs1 million from a commission agent on the Faisalabad-Sheikhupura Road on Monday. Zahoor Ahmed was intercepted by three masked bandits near Mananwala. The armed outlaws snatched a bag containing Rs1 million from him and escaped from the scene.
