ISLAMABAD, Aug 18: Prime Minister designate Shaukat Aziz on Wednesday said that efforts will be made to change the life of common man and put the country's economy on right track.

"I pray to Allah Almighty to give me courage to fulfil the responsibilities that the people of the country have put on my shoulders by casting votes in my favour," Mr Aziz said while talking to PTV.

Mr Aziz expressed his satisfaction over the positive response that the people of two constituencies showed in bye-elections and said that polls were held in smooth and transparent manner.

He said media persons from the entire world witnessed the polling process in the two constituencies while observers and members of various parties also visited the polling stations to examine the smooth polling.

He said it is a welcome step that the bye-elections were held in totally transparent manner. Mr Aziz said people have cast their votes in favour of him for the betterment and progress of the country. He said: "I will fulfil the desires of the people who cast vote to make the country's future bright and progressive."

He said: "It will be my utmost efforts to come to the expectations of the people and solve their problems." Replying to a question, he said: "I will try my level best to improve the life of country's common man and make efforts to maintain peace and harmony in the country." -APP
