LAHORE, Aug 13: The Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) has started making payments to the people from which it is acquiring land for the proposed Sundar Industrial Estate on Raiwind Road.

The proposed industrial estate is situated some 25km from Thokar Niaz Beg and would be spread over an area of 11,500 acre, according to a news release issued by the company on Friday.

The provincial government has already begun work on feasibility for the upgradation of three roads - Sundar-Raiwind Road, Manga-Raiwind Road and Niaz Beg-Raiwind Road -- to improve the connectivity with the industrial estate.

Total length of these roads is about 42 kilometres. The PIEDMC has already approved a Rs2.5 billion programme for construction of infrastructure facilities like roads at the estate.
