KARACHI, Aug 11: The Inspector General Police (IGP), Sindh has issued directives for fool proof security arrangements on the occasion of Independence Day.

He directed officials to maintain a close liaison with with other Law Enforcement Agencies and organisers of various social events to ensure security of life at all public places.

The IGP issued the directives to CCPO Karachi while reviewing the independence day security arrangements on Wednesday. He specified that life and property of all city-based diplomats be strictly guarded with heavy deployment at all important buildings

TPOs and SHOs would be responsible to ensure that there is no lapse in security measures. The Police Chief cautioned that he would personally keep visiting the deployment arears off and on.

The CCPO was directed to ensure beefed up mobile and motorcycle patrolling in the city, carry out random and snap checking, setup checking pickets at all entry and exit points and keep vigil on suspected persons and vehicles.

The IGP, however, said that while carrying out snap checking it should be ensured that people are not harassed and put into any inconvenience. He asked the DIG Traffic to chalk out a special traffic plan for the day with deployment of additional traffic cops at important roads, round-abouts, parking areas and signals. -APP
