SIALKOT, Aug 8: An ASI and an accused were killed while a constable sustained serious injuries on Sunday when their motorcycle rammed into a roadside tree near Wahla-Budha Goraya village, Daska tehsil.

ASI Aslam alias Kallu and constable Mushtaq arrested accused Zafarullah in Buddah Goraya village. They were taking the criminal to the Sadar police station by their motorcycle.

On the way, accused's brother Waris and his accomplices in their bid to rescue Zafarullah, tried to intercept the speeding motorcycle. As a result, the motorcycle rammed into a roadside tree.

ASI Aslam and Zafarullah died on the spot while constable Mushtaq sustained serious injuries. He was admitted to a Daska hospital in critical condition. After the incident, the accused managed to escape from the scene. However, the police, after a long chase, succeeded in arresting accused Waris.

Police have registered a case and are investigating.
