KARACHI, Aug 2: The Pakistan Disabled Foundation has demanded that the concession in fare to the handicapped people and their attendants on local air tickets be also extended to Haj travel.

In a statement issued on Monday the PDF maintained that it was unfair that the facility which was available to the handicapped in normal travel was being denied to them when they travelled to perform Haj.

The PDF also criticized the Pakistan Railways for not allowing fare concession and other facilities to the disabled people, available to such persons in many neighbouring countries, despite repeated requests by the foundation.

The PDF alleged that the job quota for the handicapped in government service was not being observed. The foundation also alleged that the handicapped candidates were not being allowed to appear in the Federal Public Service Commission examinations that were held for the posts higher than grade 15.
