HYDERABAD, July 30: Workers of the Jamaat-i-Islami here on Friday staged demonstrations outside mosques after Juma prayers to protest against the execution of two Pakistanis in Iraq.
The demonstrations were held outside the Madina mosque and Ayesha mosque in Latifabad-6 and Mubarak mosque Latifabad-8 on the appeal of Amir Jamaat-e-Islami, Qazi Hussain Ahmed.
Speaking on the occasion, leaders of the party Shaikh Shaukat Ali, Rana Mehmood Ali, Rao Masood Ali, Dr Mazhar Baqai and others charged that killing of two Pakistanis in Iraq was the result of pro-American policies of President Pervez Musharraf.
They claimed that if the government had made an unequivocal announcement that it would not send troops to Iraq, the lives of two Pakistanis would have been saved. They said America, Israel and India were enemies of Muslims but Pakistani rulers were performing a role of their 'agents'. They demanded that the government should openly announce that it would not send Pakistani troops to Iraq.
JSQM: Activists of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz here on Friday staged a protest march from Qasimabad and held demonstration outside the DPO's office and Hyderabad press club against the murder of party activist, Gul Bhatti.
Gul Bhatti was reportedly killed by PPP-SB leader, Mazhar Memon, Jan Muhammad Junejo and an unidentified person in Qasimabad on Wednesday night.
Speaking on the occasion, leaders of the party Qasim Soomro, Najeeb Qureshi, Naveed Memon, Aslam Solangi and others demanded that Mazhar Memon and Mr Junejo be arrested. They warned if murderers were not arrested within 48 hours, activists of the party would block all roads in the city.
