TORONTO, Oct 27: While Pakistani mission here has started collecting data of its community members living in Canada, a ruling party MP has provided details about Ottawa’s reduced visa operations in Islamabad.

In a communication sent to the Pakistanis of his constituency, parliamentarian Jim Karygiannis said despite the current war against terrorism in Afghanistan, Canada’s High Commissioner office in Islamabad “is providing urgent necessary services.”

Karygiannis said according to Citizenship and Immigration Canada, priority will be given to processing applications from spouses of Canadian citizens or returning residents who want to accompany their spouse to Canada; some business visitors and VIP/host government officials with urgent legitimate reasons to travel to Canada; temporary workers urgently needed in the Canadian labour market who have an approved Human Resources Development Canada job validation, and other legitimate cases as warranted.
