QUETTA, July 30: Chief Minister Jam Mohammad Yousuf has said that the provincial government will not tolerate any movement against the interest of the people and development projects.
Talking to a delegation of ministers that called on him on Friday, he stressed to complete uplift projects within the specified time and curtail non-development expenditures. The chief minister said that Quetta would be provided better civic facilities to bring it at par with other provincial capitals.
He said to control environmental pollution the government would promote use of CNG in cars and rickshaws and asked the ministers to prepare a package for installation of CNG kits in the vehicles besides the Chinese firm should be contacted that has shown interest in this sector.
The ministers who met him included Mir Asim Kurd, Mir Habibur Rehman Mohammad Hasni, Mir Abdul Ghafoor Lehri, Mir Abdul Qaddus Bizenjo and Mir Shabir Ahmed Badani.
JOBS DEMANDED: Members of the Berozgar Diploma Holders Association of Sui staged a demonstration in front of Chief Minister Secretariat demanding that PPL, SSGC, SNGPL, and OGDC authorities should implement the accord of 1989-91 for provision of employment to local jobless youths in the company.
BNM: Chairman of Baloch National Movement Ghulam Muhammad Baloch has urged the Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court to take suo-motu notice of the unlawful arrests of his party members by law enforcement agencies to victimise his party's political activists who were against the so-called mega projects in the province.
Speaking at a Press conference at the press club here on Thursday, he announced that BNM would send a memorandum to the UN, EU, Amnesty International and HR organisations to expose the excesses committed by the government to suppress Baloch rights.
