ISLAMABAD, July 29: Pakistan Muslim League-N has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the killing of Raja Mohammad Azad and Sajid Naeem in Iraq.

In a statement here on Thursday, the party's central information secretary, Siddiqul Farooque , said the incident had hurt the public sympathy in Pakistan for the "Iraqi freedom fighters".

However, he said, the ultimate responsibility for the tragedy rested with the present rulers because they took no step to counteract the perception about their support to the US-led attack on Iraq.

He said the people of Iraq resisting the foreign occupation were rightly unhappy with the countries that abstained from raising their voice against the US aggression, but they must differentiate between the government policies and the sentiments of the common people.
