Uruguay clinch 3rd spot

CUSCO, July 25: Goals from Fabian Estoyanoff and Vicente Sanchez gave Uruguay a 2-1 win over Colombia in their Copa America third place play-off here on Saturday night.

Sanchez made up for his semifinal penalty miss against Brazil which halted Uruguay's passage into Sunday's final, to score the winning goal in the southeast of Peru.

A left-foot lob in the 80th minute of the consolation game edged out Colombia after Estoyan off had put Uruguay ahead in the third minute after being fed from the left by Sanchez.

Sergio Herrera equalised for Colombia with a 70th-minute penalty. The final was being played between Argentina and Brazil in Lima on Sunday. -AFP
