ISLAMABAD, July 19: Secretary, Board of Investment, Jahangir Bashar said on Monday the BoI would start one window operation for local as well as foreign investors aimed at providing maximum facilities to the investors.

He was talking to the president of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), Hussain Ahmed Ozgen, who called on him. Secretary, BoI said the government had started various programmes to attract the investors and was making the procedure and tax system easy and business-friendly.

He said the government had succeeded in its efforts in restoring confidence of investors and business community through the consistency in policies for the last few years.

Jahangir Bashar urged the private sector and the business community to play their effective role in increasing exports and boosting the quantum of foreign investment in the country.

He said for the promotion of Information Technology in the country, the BoI would provide maximum facilities and incentives to the investors. One-Window Operation would be made more service-oriented so that foreign investors could save their time, which they consumed in getting approval from different government departments, he added.

The RCCI president lauded the efforts and measures taken by the government in enhancing trade activities particularly in providing conducive environment for the investors and said that business community fully supports the government efforts. He said the government should focus on small and medium enterprises as that sector would help eliminate poverty and unemployment, besides stabilizing economy. -APP
