KOLKATA, July 18: The founder of Art of Living Foundation, Ravi Shankar, will undertake a four-day peace mission to Pakistan from July 19 during which he is likely to meet President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

According to a statement of the foundation here, this will be the first visit of Ravi Shankar to Pakistan. He will hold informal meetings with political and business leaders, heads of religious groups and social activists in Karachi and Islamabad.

"He is also likely to meet President Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Governor of Sindh and the Mayor of Karachi," the statement said.

Mr Naeem Zamindar, a member of the Foundation's Pakistan chapter, on Saturday said meetings were also planned with leaders of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and Islamic organizations.

He said: "Several non-governmental organizations, peace activists and eminent individuals in Pakistan have shown interest in his visit." A public 'satsang' would be held in Karachi on July 20, Mr Zamindar said, adding "also on the agenda is a meeting with the Hindu community in Taxila". Pundit Ravi Shankar would inaugurate the Karachi centre of ALF. -PPI
