GUJRANWALA, July 14: An FIA team raided various places in the city here on Wednesday and arrested five human smugglers. Reports said Amjad Butt, Dilawer Ali, Murtaza, and Rana Zulfiqar extorted heavy amount from people and got their passports and national identity card. But they did not send them abroad.

On a complaint, the team arrested them and recovered scores of passports, ID cards and fake stamp papers from their possession. A case has been registered against them.

DACOITS STRIKE: Dacoits looted a bakery, injured two scrap dealers on resistance and took away a car from a sub-inspector in three strikes here on Wednesday. Reports said Haji Muhammad Afzal and Muhammad Ashraf were on their way to the shop after withdrawing Rs400,000 from a bank branch.

Near the Judicial Colony, two robbers signalled them to stop and later opened fire on them on resistance. As a result, they sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital.

At Baghbanpura, three outlaws forced their entry into the bakery and made off with Rs50,000 from Muhammad Asim at gunpoint. Two robbers took away the car (LRP-6954) from SI Fazal Abass outside the district jail.
