RAWALPINDI, July 13: The accountability court No. 2 here on Tuesday adjourned the hearing in the ARY reference against the PPP leader, Asif Ali Zardari, till July 29.

The judge, Sakhi Mohammad Kahut, adjourned the case hearing after the court was informed that Mr Zardari could not turn up before the court as he had flown to Karachi to appear in the hearing of some other cases against him.

Meanwhile, the accountability courts' administrative judge, Mohammad Aslam, marked a recently filed corruption reference against some railways officials to the accountability court No. 4 judge, Mazhar Hussain Minhas, for hearing.

The former Pakistan Railways divisional superintendent, Ziaul Qamar, and two other officials - Shaikh Adil and Shaikh Khalid - have been nominated by the National Accountability Bureau in the reference.

The accountability court No. 3 judge, Mohammad Aslam, recorded the statement of a prosecution witness in the Rawalpindi Municipal Complex corruption reference against two engineers of the defunct Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation, Tariq Saeed and Tariq Iqbal. The court adjourned the hearing till Wednesday.
