SUKKUR July 13: District Nazim Nasir Hussain Shah has called upon parents to focus on education of their children. He was speaking at inaugural ceremony of two school buildings completed under the ESRA on Monday.

They include the Government Girls Primary School, Lal Bux Mahtam village, and the Government Girls Primary School, Sodho Serwary in union council Loonge Bhatti in Rohri taluka.

He said that no nation could develop without providing proper education to their girls. The nazim announced a water cooler for te Government Girls Primary School Sodho Khan Serwary. Later, he distributed free text books among girl students of both schools.

KILLED: A man was gunned down over a minor dispute in Bagarji town some 15 kilometres away from here on Monday morning. Qalander Bux alias Laloo Hakro, 38, was sitting at a tea shop when four armed men shot him dead and fled.

Ghulam Nabi Hakro, the father of the killed man, registered an FIR (8/2004) against Dino Shah, Shaukat Shah, Peeral Shah and Jamal Shah. No arrest was made till the filing this report.

LOOTED: Passengers of a Sukkur-bound coach were looted on the national highway on Sunday. The coach on its way to Sukkur from Karachi when reached near Ranipur armed men who were present in the coach started looting passengers at gun point and fled near Babarloi.

They snatched gold ornaments from the women. Later, passengers staged a sit-in on the national highway for three hours. The Khairpur police reached the spot and assured the early arrest of culprits on this the sit-in was ended. The police arrested the driver and cleaner of the coach for questioning.
