SHEIKHUPURA, July 13: One of the three alleged robbers who shot dead a man in Mubarikabad was arrested by the police after an encounter immediately after the incident on Tuesday morning.

This was stated by DPO Chaudhry Nawaz Warriach in a press briefing held in his office here on Tuesday. The DPO said Shabbir Husain was on his way home after offering Fajr prayer when three robbers intercepted him and tried to rob him. Shabbir resisted their bid and the robbers shot him dead, he added.

The DPO said Muridke Saddar police were informed immediately which started following the fleeing robbers. They opened fire on police when they reached near them. Police returned the fire and a crossfire continued for sometime after which one of the robbers was arrested while the other two made good their escape, he claimed. The arrested man was identified as Aslam.

KILLER NABBED: The DPO claimed that Bhekhi police have arrested Mubarik who killed his two brothers and a sister-in-law in Nawankot on the dispute of a five-marla plot on Monday.

He claimed that Mubarik entered the house of his brother Nokar Husain along with his wife and a son. They shot dead Nokar Husain, Shahadat Ali and Nadia and fled from the scene. The DPO claimed that Bhekhi police arrested the alleged killers within 12 hours of commission of crime.

MAN KILLS WIFE: Musarrat was shot dead allegedly by her husband Amjad over a domestic dispute in Daoke in the jurisdiction of Muridke city police. Police claimed to have arrest the man along with the weapon of offence.
