ISLAMABAD, July 11: Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has renewed the government's commitment to develop the remote and backward areas of the country.

He was talking to a nine-member delegation from Balochistan headed by its former chief minister, Zulfiqar Ali Magsi, which called on him at the Prime Minister Secretariat on Sunday.

The delegation included among others Senator Saeed Hashmi and Jaffer Khan Mandokhel. He said the government would continue its efforts to improve the quality of life of the people and to generate more employment opportunities.

He also referred to the mega development projects being executed in Balochistan in this connection. The delegation discussed matters pertaining to speedy implementation of the development projects and also reviewed the political situation.

Meanwhile, Minister for Communication Babar Khan Ghouri and Minister for Housing and Works Syed Safwanullah jointly called on Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain at the Prime Minister's Secretariat here on Sunday.

During their meeting, the two minister exchanged views with the prime minister on the upcoming development schemes and projects of their respective ministries. Mr Shujaat asked both the ministers to speed up the execution and implementation of mega projects.
