QUETTA, July 8: The chairmen of 11 district public safety commissions in the province on Thursday complained that the government had not provided funds to them for running their administrative affairs in a smooth manner , despite the new local government system having been enforced two years ago.

Nushki Public Safety Commission Chairman Haji Mir Juma Khan Badani, speaking at a press conference at the press club, accused bureaucrats of attempting to pit nazims against the commissions to create hurdles in the functioning of the system.

Quetta PSC Chairman Ghaffar Kakar; Habibullah Zehri of Khuzdar; Meharullah Kakar, Ziarat; Mohammad Tahir, Kech; Tariq Mahmood Marri, Kohlu; Noor Ahmed Malazi, Kalat; Manan Achakzai, Qila Abdullah; Elahi Bakhsh Abro, Bolan; Malik Aminullah, Loralai; Nasibullah Khan, Zhob; Rais Ghulam Sadiq, Mastung; and Mir Habibur Rehman of Panjgur were also present.

Juma Khan Badani claimed that powers had been delegated to the PSC chairmen in Punjab and Sindh an funds, vehicles, staff and salaries provided to them but in Balochistan neither funds nor powers were given to them.
