KARACHI, July 6: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad visited various areas of the city and inspected progress of the ongoing development schemes on Tuesday evening.

During the two-hour visit along with City Nazim Naimatullah Khan, DCO Mir Hussain Ali and other officials, the governor particularly reviewed the schemes pertaining to roads and communication.

Ishratul Ibad issued directive for ensuring facilities for pedestrians and cyclists in all the road projects. He also asked the officials concerned to ensure water drainage arrangements while constructing the roads. He ordered that alternate arrangements for traffic flow must be ensured during work on these projects.

While inspecting the works at FTC Flyover, Shahrah-i-Quaideen Flyover, Karsaz Road and Dalmia, the governor issued directive to work round-the-clock. He walked on foot and inspected the work through various angles.

Dr Ibad emphasised upon continuous coordination among organizations associated with the schemes so that the problems faced during their implementation could be immediately solved and the work must not suffer from delays and impediments.

The project directors apprised the governor about the progress achieved on different projects. Dr Ibad expressed satisfaction over the progress achieved on the schemes and hoped that by working round-the-clock, the delays suffered in the past could be made up. Many of the schemes, he said, would see completion ahead of schedule. -APP
