ISLAMABAD, July 4: The Senate is set to take up a heavy agenda involving private members bills, resolutions and bills, including a resolution for declaring punishment under the Hudood Ordinance un-Islamic , when it meets on Monday on the second day of the current session.

There are 14 private members' bills, eight resolutions and three amendments to the Senate rules on the agenda. These include a bill to provide for the welfare of senior citizens and one pertaining to the West Pakistan Family Courts Act of 1964.

Senator Raza Rabbani of the People's Party Parliamentarians has moved three bills seeking to amend the Banking Companies Ordinance and the Service Tribunals Act. Farhatullah Babar of the PPP has also moved three bills pertaining to the Commissions of Inquiry Act and for prevention of delay in pronouncement of judgements by courts and their publication.

The bill seeking to amend the Pakistan Commission of Inquiry Act 1956 aims at entitling the general public to get copies of the reports and findings of inquiry commissions.
