KARACHI, July 2: A teenage girl and a young man were axed to death by her cousin in Ibrahim Hyderi on Friday morning. Police said that Nazar Mohammad attacked his cousin Noorzadi, 18, and Qadir, 27, with axe in Ali Mohammad Goth.

Later, Nazar Mohammad came to the Ibrahim Hyderi police station and confessed his crime. He told the police that Noorzadi and Qadir were sitting at a deserted place in Ali Mohammad Goth around 4am when he attacked them with axe.

According to police, Qadir had come from Khuzdar and had settled in the Ali Mohammad Goth some six months back. Area people said that the incident occurred at 4am on Friday. The bodies were shifted to the police station, where they remained unattended for at least eight hours. Finally, the bodies were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre at 4:30pm.

Sources said that the postmortem examination could not be carried out on Noorzadi's body, as the woman medicolegal officer was not present at the hospital. Following the autopsy of Qadir's body, it was shifted to Edhi morgue.

SHOT DEAD: A police official was shot dead by unknown persons in Saeedabad. Police said that Khan Asfar, 38, an official of the town intelligence unit of Baldia Town, was standing at a shop near Bismillah Chowk when unknown persons on a motorcycle opened fire and fled.

The wounded man was taken to a nearby private hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police suspected some personal enmity as a possible motive behind the killing.

In Liaquatabad, a young man was shot dead inside his house on Friday. According to area police, unknown people barged into the house of Abdul Razzak, opened fire at him and fled. His body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

BODY FOUND: The trussed-up body of a middle-aged man was found from his house within the limits of Docks Police Station on Friday.
