KARACHI, June 30: Twenty-four junior doctors of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre were awarded certificates on completion of a trauma course on Wednesday. The certificates distribution ceremony was organized by the Neurosurgery and Emergency Medicines Department, JPMC.

According to a press release, the course was conducted by the trauma team of Aga Khan University including Dr John Beavis, a trauma surgeon associated with the British Primary Trauma Course, and Dr Paul Borgdorf, an anaesthetist from Holland.

JPMC Director Prof Kazi Shakoor, who was chief guest on the occasion, stressed on regular training of junior doctors in early management of the critical victims of violence.

He said, "The junior doctors of trauma receiving hospitals like the JPMC must be regularly trained in order to save lives and enhance recovery." Prof Rashid Juma congratulated the junior doctors for their impressive performance in the course and declared that with the support of health ministry it was aimed to make such courses a regular feature of the JPMC academic calendar. - PPI
