KARACHI, June 24: At least six persons were injured in exchange of firing between rival gangs in different localities of Lyari, which remained gripped by tension on Thursday, following the Wednesday's killing of Babu dacoit.

In Jehanabad area, four men were injured when unknown persons opened fire at them and escaped. The injured were identified as Ahmed Nawaz, Agha Ahmed Mirza, Faisal Ahmed and Shafeeq. They were taken to the Civil Hospital for treatment.

In another incident, Aishiq Ali was wounded when unknown armed men opened fire at him on Shah Abdul Latif Road in Kalri police limits. He was taken to the Civil Hospital for treatment. Another man was shot at and injured in the Kalalot area by unknown men.

SECURITY: Heavy deployment of police and the Rangers was made in parts of Lyari, including Jahanabad, Rexer Lane, Chakiwara, and Kalakot. The police mobile vans and armoured personnel carriers kept patrolling the area to maintain law and order.

The police conducted raids at various places to arrest the killers of Babu dacoit and his associates, who were shot dead on Wednesday. Shops and markets in the area remained closed in the morning.
