Villages hit by canal breach

MIRPURKHAS, June 23: Hundreds of acres of cultivated land and several villages were inundated when a 40-foot-wide breach developed in the Mithrao canal near Arif Bhurgari village in taluka Samaro on Wednesday.

Irrigation authorities took immediate measures to contain the damage and mobilized people from adjoining villages to plug the breach. Irrigation department employees are supervising the work with the help of villagers. -APP
