TOBA TEK SINGH, June 23: A speeding truck crushed on Wednesday a donkey cart owner on Gojra bypass road near Chak 370 JB. Police said Boota was on his way home when the truck (FDA-4110) ran over his cart, killing him on the spot.

FRAUD CASE: Rajana police registered on Wednesday a fraud case against a trader. Complainant Akram Gadhi of Chak 194 GB told police that accused Asif of Soondh village was to pay him Rs200,000. He gave him a cheque which was found fake when he went to the bank for encashment.

CAB SNATCHED: Three gunmen drove away with a taxi near Chak 439 JB. They hired the taxi car (FDQ-3148) from Khurrianwala (Faisalabad) for Gojra. They overpowered driver Afzal near Chak 439 JB, tied him with a rope, threw him in fields and drove away with his taxi car.

DEPRIVED: A traffic police constable was deprived of his motorcycle by two gunmen on Wednesday. Constable Faqir Husain was going from Chak 416 JB to 417 JB when the gunmen intercepted him on gunpoint at a deserted place and took away his motorcycle (TSA-7553).

PHONE CABLE STOLEN: Hundreds of telephones of six villages of Kamalia area went out of order when unidentified men stole underground cable from different places on Monday night.

A PTCL official said cables worth millions of rupees were stolen due to which telephones of Chak 705 GB, 706 GB, 707 GB, 713 GB, 714 GB and 715 GB went out of order. New cable has not yet been installed.
