KARACHI, June 21: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in another surprise move on Monday appointed Murray Stevenson, a 27-year-old South African, as the trainer for the national senior squad.

According to the PCB officials, Stevenson, a bio-kinetic expert, is regarded highly as a fitness and training guru. Stevenson was named as the latest foreign import to join the Pakistan side after his compatriot and fellow trainer Andy Gray declined PCB's offer.

Interestingly, PCB failed to make any announcement about Gray's decision. The PCB, whose coffers are filled after the recent Indian series, last Wednesday acquired the services of Bob Woolmer, the former South Africa and Warwickshire coach, after terminating the contract of Javed Miandad.

Prior to that the cricket board agreed to four-week terms with ex-Australian skipper Greg Chappell and South African Barry Richards as batting consultants as well as roping in Daryl Foster as the bowling coach. All these appointments are likely to cost the PCB a fortune and that too in precious foreign exchange.
