Country's security at risk: PPP

Published June 21, 2004

ISLAMABAD, June 20: Pakistan People's Party women's wing, federal capital, president Nargis Faiz Awan has said the country is passing through a number of crises as the rulers have put its security and integrity at risk.

She said this at a function held to offer prayers for the health and long life of party chairperson Benazir Bhutto here on Sunday. In a press release issued by the PPP, Ms Awan said the military rulers had put at stake the national integrity and stability of Pakistan.

She said the PPP workers would foil the conspiracies of those elements who had been dreaming of occupying the party. She said the workers were united and organized under the leadership of Ms Bhutto. She also expressed sympathy with the bereaved family of PPP worker Munawar Suharwardy, who was assassinated in Karachi recently.
