LAHORE, June 16: The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)will take disciplinary action against its referee allegedly involved in beating another referee during national "A" league match at the Punjab Stadium on Saturday.

The PFF secretary Arshad Khan Lodhi, while talking to newsmen after inaugurating the AFC "C" Licence Course on Wednesday, said that the federation would not spare those found guilty.

He said that the PFF had instructed the match-referee Chaudhry Rashid to file his official report so that the action could be taken accordingly. Referee Essa Khan, attired in an official uniform, beat his fellow referee Dil Nawaz with official flag, just minutes before the start of the match between Wapda and Wohaib Club.

PFF secretary assured that the Allied Bank Limited management would restore its football team to play in the ongoing league. ABL had disbanded its team this month by refusing to renew contract with seven players.

Arshad said that the PFF would release Rs 150,000 to the Punjab Football Association (PFA)to equally disburse the amount among the two top clubs of Punjab which had qualified for the league.

The PFF secretary said that FIFA would provide Pakistan a coach to groom the talent. Meanwhile, 31 coaches were called to attend the course from Punjab but only 19 turned up.

The PFF had already organized a similar course for Sindh's coaches. The course for NWFP and Balochistan would also beheld. The course concludes on June 29.
