HYDERABAD, May 21: A division bench of the Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, comprising Justice Mujeebullah Siddiqui and Justice M. Musa K. Leghari on Tuesday set-aside the death sentence awarded to an appellant, M. Hanif alias Peechu, by the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) judge, Mirpurkhas.

The court directed the judge of the anti-terrorism court to re-draft the judgment.

The appellant was awarded five times death sentence under section 302 PPC, 324 Qisas and Diyat Ordinance, and 13-D of the Arms Ordinance for killing five policemen at Sim Nala, Khalid Leghari lane, Digri, on September 28, 1998.

The appellant had voluntarily surrendered to the police along with a Kalashnikov, the weapon of a slain constable on March 5, 1999.
