RAWALPINDI, June 10: A court here on Thursday issued arrest warrants for 17 Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) activists for not appearing in the court during the trial of a case.

The special judicial magistrate, Mohammad Akram Bhatti, issued arrest warrants for the PML-N activists for not attending the hearing of a case registered against them by the City police for allegedly resorting to rampage on the arrival of Kalsoom Nawaz, wife of the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, in Rawalpindi.

Those issued arrest warrants are Shabir Shah, Sadique Batt, Mohammad Khalil, Allauddin, Nawaz Khan, Raja Nasir, Sajid Abbassi, Chaudhry Jamil, Zafar Ali, Masaud Ahmed, Sadique Mughul, Azhar Mehmood, Masaud Afghan, Iftikhar Hussain, Dr Fayyaz, Saeed Ahmed and Raja Jehangeer.
