LANDI KOTAL, June 9: Authorities in Landi Kotal on Tuesday night and Wednesday arrested four persons in connection with the kidnapping of a tribal elder here on Monday night.

The assistant political agent, with the assistance of the Jamrud Khasadar force, raided a house in Jamrud on Tuesday night and arrested two brothers Niazmeen Shah and Sabeet Shah. Authorities alleged that the car used in the kidnapping of Malik Amrat Khan was owned by the two brothers.

Family sources of the two brothers however contended that their car was missing along one of Niazmeen Shah's son Abdul Nabi for the last week, but they had not registered a case with the political administration.

In a second raid on a house in Zargarano Kaley, the Khasadar force rounded one Younas along with his colleague on suspicion of their involvement in the abduction of Amrat Khan.

Sources said that Younas was not keeping good company and was wanted to the administration in some unspecified criminal cases. Malik Amrat Khan was abducted by unknown gunmen on Monday night from in front of his hujra while he was returning from a near by mosque.
