LONDON, June 7: Glamorgan consolidated their position at the top of Division One in the English National League with a 33-run win over Gloucestershire on Sunday. Matt Windows (55) and Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik (52) did their best but Gloucestershire were all out for 217 while chasing 251.
Australian Andrew Symonds, meanwhile, blasted 146 that helped Kent beat Lancashire by 56 runs. In Division Two, Shoaib Akhtar, the controversial Pakistani fast bowler, bowled his full quota of nine overs (taking two for 32) for Durham despite announcing beforehand that he would only bat to rest his rib injury.
