KARACHI, June 3: Karachi University on Thursday released the list of 1,703 candidates, who have been granted provisional admissions into different departments run in the evening.

The KU Directorate of Admission Committee has advised the candidates, whose names are included in the list, to contact it for finalization of admission process. The fee would be collected from June 7 to 18.

About 3,000 admission applications were received by the directorate. The highest number of applications were received for admissions to MA Economics and Finance, followed by Public Administration, Mass Communication, Food Science and Technology and Pharmacy, respectively.

In the meantime, the directorate has announced that applications for admissions on donors' seats at various departments would be received from June 7 to 10, while admission list would be announced on June 12. The classes under evening programme at the varsity would commence on June 21, the KU notification added.

PAPER POSTPONED: Karachi University has announced, without disclosing reasons, that the Paper-VI of BL, annual examinations, 2004, scheduled to be held on June 4, would now be held on June 15.

According to an unconfirmed report, the decision to delay the examinations was taken in view of the strike call given by the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal and the anticipated law and order situation in the city on June 4 (today). About 1,750 candidates are registered for the BL paper.

In the meantime, the varsity has also announced to hold the postponed paper-IV of BL Second year and MBBS First Professional, Part-B, supplementary examination paper of Physiology-II on June 9. The papers in question could not be held due to the law and order situation on June 1.
