Pakistanis invited by India

LAHORE, May 31: The Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) has asked its Pakistan counterpart to make available 25 players including seniors and juniors to take part in their inaugural league starting in Dec-Jan.

The IHF has made this offer to all the hockey playing countries to send their players for their league. The IHF will allow five foreign players to each team participating in the league from which only two will be allowed to take part in a match.

Meanwhile, a Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) official has left here for India to finalise the dates of the forthcoming series between two countries scheduled to be held in Sept-Oct this year.

The Indian team is due to arrive in Karachi on Sept24to start the eight match series to be held on home and away basis with each country organizing four matches, apiece.

The first match will be played in Karachi on Sept 25 while the PHF official will finalise the dates of seven remaining matches during his visit of India. Various issues relating to the marketing aspects of the series will also be decided during the meeting.
