ISLAMABAD, May 28: Foreign Secretary Riaz H. Khokhar on Friday expressed optimism about the continuation of the composite dialogue between Pakistan and India, saying it would continue according to the schedule agreed upon between the two countries.

He was talking to newsmen here after attending a seminar on International Day of UN Peacekeepers. Mr Khokhar said both sides would have to take positive steps to resolve fundamental issues.

He expressed the hope that the peace process would continue and all disputes between Pakistan and India, including Kashmir, would be resolved. Pakistan, he said, was awaiting India's response to finalize the timetable of the foreign secretary level talks, which were originally scheduled to be held in the first week of June in New Delhi.

Riaz Khokhar said that the schedule had been slightly changed because of the change of government in India. Referring to the issue of sending Pakistani troops to Iraq, he said that no decision had yet been made in this regard. -APP
