NEW DELHI, May 28: Amid reservations voiced by Pakistan on the construction of Kishanganga hydroelectric project in held Kashmir, India has assured it that a special meeting will be convened within six months to discuss the issue.

In an interview with APP, Indus Water Commissioner Syed Jamait Ali Shah, who is here to attend annual Pakistan-India Indus Water Commission meeting, said he conveyed reservations over the project and diversion of the Kishanganga River water to the Wuller Barrage.

Jamait Shah, who is heading a seven-member delegation, said India had to supply data regarding the project but New Delhi delayed it on the plea that the data was being revised.

He said the Indian side had held out the assurance during the meeting that concluded on Friday that a special meeting would be convened and revised data of the project provided.

He said India had said construction of the project would not be undertaken before the meeting. He said objections were raised over the construction of two river training works by India along the Ravi River. -APP
