KARACHI, May 27: All arrangements have been finalised to conduct the written examination of candidates who have applied for the posts of PST, GST and HST. A record number of 52,000 candidates are appearing in the tests scheduled for May 29 and 30.

Centres had been established in all 18 towns of Karachi. Talking to APP, EDO Education Gul Muhammad Hajano said the exams were biggest in terms of the number of candidates. He said that guidelines had been given to all superintendents - external and internal.

Lists of co-ordinators and chief co-ordinators have been prepared on town basis, while senior officers including principals in BPS-20 have been assigned to co-ordinate, monitor and ensure the transparent conduct of the exams.

The lists of candidates have also been displayed at the offices of all District Education Officers, ADOs'of CDGK as well as local government schools, said Gul Muhammad Hajano. He said the exams, with a duration of one and a half hours, would start at 10.30am.

Invigilating staff have been directed to reach their respective centres at 8.30am sharp, while chief co-ordinators and co-ordinators have been asked to collect the exam papers from the College of Business Management (CBM) at 7am.

Meanwhile, Hajano has, for the convenience of the candidates, advised them to contact the DOs and ADOs of their concerned towns should they face any difficulty.

A separate centre has also been established at Bahadur Yar Jang Government School for candidates who had not mentioned their respective towns in Karachi or belong to places other than Karachi, said the EDO Education.

He also advised the candidates to bring along their bank deposit slips, which every candidate would have to show to establish his/her identity. The EDO Education also appealed to the staff of the schools, where the exams were being held, not to avail or proceed on casual leave on May 29 and 30 so that their services could be utilised in case of any necessity. -APP
