SWABI, May 26: The Awami National Party (ANP) may restore the membership of MPA Sarfaraz Khan Jadoon, who was expelled from the party for violating party decision and "selling" his vote in the Senate election in February 2003.

Awami National Party provincial General Secretary Farid Toofan said the membership of Mr Jadoon along with Syed Kalb-i-Hasan and Atiqur Rehman had been expelled from the party for violating its decision.

Later, Mr Jadoon also swore before the Awami National Party leaders denying that he had sold his vote or violated the party discipline but despite that his membership was not restored.

When Mr Toofan was asked about Mr Jadoon, he hinted at accepting the expelled MPA back. Insiders told Dawn that the district leadership had already given green signal to the party.

Mr Toofan said the differences between the party and Mr Jadoon could be resolved because he played a key role in the district nazim election and supported the party nominee.

"He supported the party in very difficult times and we appreciate it. May be it is a good omen for him and the party," he elaborated. He said he would send a report to the provincial president and party leadership about Mr Jadoon's role in the Swabi nazim election.
