PESHAWAR, May 25: A teenaged girl and her married sister were raped allegedly by a son of a landlord and his two accomplices at gunpoint in Chughalpura locality of Chamkani area, sources told Dawn here on Tuesday.

The three accused entered the house of labourer Noorzada and after overpowering him, brought his 23-year-old wife and 17-year-old sister-in-law to a Hujra on the night between Saturday and Sunday, the sources said.

They criminally assaulted the labourer's wife and his sister-in-law at the hujra for three hours, the sources said. On Sunday morning the woman went to the Chamkani police station and tried to register an FIR against the accused and did not disclose that her sister was also criminally assaulted by the armed men, the sources maintained.

The police initially showed reluctance to register the case. However, they registered the case on the orders of SSP operation Abid Ali, and on Monday arrested one Fazle Rabbi.

The police in the FIR did not include the name of the son of local influential landlord, the sources said. However, his name was included in the FIR when the sister-in-law of Noorzada informed the police on Monday night that she was also raped.

"She was raped allegedly by Danish, the landlord's son, and they have included his name among the accused in the FIR," SSP operation Abid Ali told Dawn. Fazle Rabbi and Fayyaz Rabbi raped Noorzada's wife and Danish criminally assaulted the labourer's sister-in-law, he added.

The source said that Danish and Fayyaz had gone underground after the arrest of Fazle Rabbi. An official of the department of forensic sciences, said that the report of the analysis of specimens collected would be prepared by Wednesday.
