ISLAMABAD, May 23: The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and All Pakistan Newspapers Employees Confederation (Apnec) have welcomed a reported proposal of the four provincial information ministers to link government advertisements with the implementation of the Wage Award.

The office-bearers of the two organisations said in a statement that the award should be implemented without further delay. The Karachi Union of Journalists also welcomed the reported proposal and said in a statement that it should be made part of the Newspaper Employees Condition and Services Act, 1973.

It hoped the federal information minister would soon convene a meeting with the APNS and besides the provincial information ministers, the PFUJ and APNEC would also be invited.
