KARACHI, May 20: The hearing of an appeal filed by Hakim Ali Zardari, former chairman of Public Accounts Committee, was put off indefinitely by an appellate bench of the Sindh High Court , comprising Justice Wahid Bux Brohi and Justice Rehmat Hussain Jaffery, on Thursday due to want of time.

The appellant assails sentence awarded to him by an Ehtesab Court on charge of purchasing plush flat in France with alleged ill-gotten money. The same bench also put off hearing of an appeal filed by Rauf B Kadri, former Chief of Bankers Equity Limited.

The accused was sentenced to serve seven years RI and to pay a fine of Rs287.1 million. In case of default, he was ordered to serve RI for one year more. He was accused of misappropriation, corruption and corrupt practice. -APP
