KARACHI, May 19: The Pakistan Women Lawyers Association (PAWLA) has elected its new office-bearers, said a press release. Afroz Haq and Noor Naz Agha were elected as PAWLA president and general secretary respectively, the statement said.

Other office-bearers of the Pakistan Women Lawyers Association include: Sharmin Osmani, senior vice-president, Nahida Mehboob, vice-president of Punjab, Azra Khalique, joint secretary, Parveen Parvaiz, treasurer, and Razia Sultana, joint treasurer.

Besides, Zaib Javed was elected as legal aid secretary, Summara Ahmed Raza as programme secretary, Riffat Sultana Mughal as publicity secretary, Humaira Chapra as legal awareness secretary and Bilqees Jan as membership secretary.

The elections were held on May 15 with Munawwar Malik as chairman of the election committee, and Sofia Saeed and Rukhsana Ahmed as its members.
