KARACHI, May 17: The Karachi University on Monday announced the results of BCom (Part-II), regular and external and MBBS (Second Professional) annual examinations, with an over all pass percentages of 23.57 and 70.64, respectively.

According to the KU notifications, as many as 18,408 candidates were registered for BCom annual examination-2003, out of which 17,467 appeared, while 4,118 were declared pass. The results of 178 candidates were withheld for want of enrolment, registration and other irregularities.

A student of the Government Premier College for Girls, Farheen Mubeen, seat no 53072, clinched first position in the merit list by securing 1,128 marks out of 1500. Sanober Rafique, seat no 54244, of DA College for Women and Salim Sikandar, seat no 51782, of the Government College of Commerce and Economics, bagged second and third positions, respectively.

A total of 596 candidates, both regular and private, were placed in first division, while 2,414 got second and 1108 got third division. A total of 797 candidates appeared in MBBS Second Professional, annual examination-2004, while 563 were declared pass. The three top positions in the merit list were secured by female students of the Dow Medical College.

First position went to Aisha Sabir, seat no 17358, who secured 777 out of 950 marks. Shanza Agha, seat no 17565, and Bushra Billoo, seat 17394, got second and third positions, respectively.

Results of eight candidates were withheld for want of particulars, the notification added.

Exam schedule: The Karachi University on Monday announced the schedule of MBBS First Professional (Part-B) supplementary and BDS Final Professional annual examinations.

Papers of Anatomy, Physiology and Bio-Chemistry of MBBS First professional supplementary examinations would be held on May 29, June 1 and June 3, respectively, at the Department of Sindhi of the varsity. In all 55 candidates will be appearing in the examinations.

Papers of BDS annual examination, Oral Surgery, Operative Dentistry, Prosthetics and Orthodontics would be held on May 26, May 31, June 2 and June 5, respectively, at the Department of Sindhi. As many as 135 candidates were likely to appear in the said examination, the notification added.

LAW EXAMS: The University of Karachi announced that the examination forms and fees for BL-I, BL-II and LLB (Final) annual examination-2004 would be accepted at respective colleges till May 23, with a late fee of Rs1,000.
